Tom Kiser, general manager of Spirit Home Builders, and its division, Spirit Homecrafters, has a lifetime of experience in the home-building industry, including 25 years with nationally recognized companies known for quality construction and customer satisfaction. Several years ago, Kiser saw the approaching trend of remodeling older homes and saw, at the same time, the need for personal, hands-on service in this area.
"I saw a need for truly personal service to the homeowner," says Kiser. "Home remodeling, whether it is creating a new master bath or kitchen, or completeley changing the home, can be stressful. Every job we do has my personal attention. All my clients can reach me within a few minutes, most of the time. And my dedication to quality work is unmatched."
Quality People = Quality Projects
Kiser is quick to point out that he spends a great deal of time training new workers. He has two full-time project managers that have a combined 15 years' experience, as well as a project foreman, and he maintains a roster of subcontractors and professionals that he knows and trusts.
"I insist on excellence from the people I employ," says Kiser. "Your home is the largest investment you will make, and should provide a comfortable, aesthically pleasing environment for now and years to come. It is my personal comittment that all our projects offer this."
The company is family owned. Kiser's wife, Lori manages the business aspects with the help of daughter Jamie and son David and their oldest son, Brian is involved with the daily operations.

Spirit Homecrafters Fits Your Every Home Remodeling Need
Spirit Homecrafters offers quality work from the smallest job to a complete back-to-the-studs remodel. The company can install new siding, remodel a kitchen, create a luxurious master suite or add a new front door. According to Kiser, "Sometimes simply adding a new entry-way can give a home a fresh new look without a big investment in time or money."
Other services include driveways, painting, backyard pools and all adjunct home repairs.
However, Kiser has found that most homeowners are now following the trend of completely remodeling existing homes or tearing down the houses and starting from scratch. Spirit Homecrafters recently ceompleted the renovation of a 1962 ranch in Memorial, taking it from a 4,000 sq.ft., low-ceiling one-story to a two-and-a-half-story, 5,000 sq.ft. Tuscan villa. In Spring Branch, the company is currently turning a 2,600 sq.ft. 1960 ranchstyle home into a 3,600 sq.ft. two-story French style residence.
"We have been blessed, " says Kiser. "We have achieved success in a short time, I think due to our committment to creating a personal relationship with all our customers. Our philosophy is best stated in our mission statement. (See read-out) We have a growing company with several more big remodeling projects but I am absolutely devoted to the concept of always being there for our clients."
